Nickels From A Sheep's Back ~ Biography of John K. Madsen by Pearle M. Olsen

On Memorial Day 2010 we were visited at the Relic Home by John K. Olsen and his daughter.  They came to present us with the book "Nickels From a Sheep's Back" written by Pearle M. Olsen.  John K. Olsen is the little boy in the picture above with his grandfather, John K. Madsen, a very successful sheepman during the early 1900s.  We enjoyed the visit with them that day, and were given permission to post some of the material from the book to our blog.   We appreciate that opportunity because this book gives a lot of history about the early days of Mt. Pleasant, the bottoms, the sheep industry and the Madsen family.  Our readers can look forward to future postings from this book.
