Paul Auer Beck

Coach Paul Auer Beck was called home by his heavenly father on February 26, 2011, while on a wonderful vacation with his wife Alice Lynn. He died at Lake Havasu City, Arizona of natural causes.
Paul was born April 28, 1947 to Evan and Lura Beck. He married Alice Lynn Christensen on April 8 1966 in Mt. Pleasant UT and was sealed to her in the Manti Temple on November 23, 1968. He is the father of Chad Paul, Christopher Shane, Curt Jeremy and Kori Lynn.
Paul was an ever so devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Paul attended North Sanpete High School where he was an All American and All State basketball player. He earned scholarships to Snow College and Southern Utah State College where he earned All-Conference accolades and received his Bachelor’s degree in education. From there he moved on to coach High school basketball and won the first state title for North Sevier High School and was awarded Rookie Coach of the year. After winning 2 state titles at north Sevier, he moved on to coach the Spanish fork High Dons from 1978-1983 when he retired from coaching and moved on to teach the young people of Springville Middle school, where he earned Health Teacher of the Year. Paul was a man of many talents. He was an athlete, educator, horse trainer and bull fighter among many other things.
After retiring from teaching for 31 years, he continued to serve the community at the Spanish Oaks Golf Course. He retired in October 2009 from Spanish Fork City after 15 years of service. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many capacities, most recently as the High Priest Group Leader of the Spanish Fork 5th Ward.
Paul is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alice Lynn, his Children Chad, Chris (Stacy), Curt (Rosalin) and Kori Lynn (Robert Morgan), his Sister Mary Lu (Calvin Garlic), sisters-in-law LaRita and Verlene Beck and his 13 grand kids. He was preceded in death by his brothers Wallace, Wayne , Robert and his mother and father.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Spanish Fork Stake Center at 1000 East 200 South in Spanish Fork, UT. Friends may call Sunday, March 6, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Walker Mortuary at 187 South Main Street in Spanish Fork. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery under the care of Walker Mortuary.
