Clifford LeRoy Menzies

Clifford LeRoy Menzies is another uncle  of mine. He was born Aug. 9 1925 at Coal Canyon, Carbon County but grew up in Mt. Pleasant and always called it his home. He died June 16, 1993, he is buried by his brother Bob in Mt. Pleasant. He was in the 2nd world war, in the navy and on the USS Iowa. It was a new design that made the Iowa class the most powerful ship in the world at that time. it earned 9 battle stars in the 2nd world war plus other decorations. It served our country for 50 yrs. It was designated the worlds Navel ship because of their big guns, they could also shoot nuclear shells. The Iowa, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Missouri were all this class.
