Meeting held November 14, 1877
Opened with singing: "Come All The Saints Who Dwell on Earth
Prayer by Sister Madsen.

Sister Morrison addressed the Sisters.  Felt glad to meet again after  ...meetings. Said raison (sp) why and  testified  that her mind and thoughts were with the sisters all the time when they meet and have the same interest in the Society as she always had.  She wished for the Sisters to be faithful and prayerful in everything they undertake; wished that they should not encourage the spirit of belittling and evil speaking of another.  Said that if there was evil in such fault finding in our society, we have all try to do the best we know hos. She begged the sisters in the Visiting Society to encourage the sisters to come to Meeting to see and hear what was going on.  She also spoke a good deal about our Young Ladies Soc.
Said that they will be organized the fourth time  and hoped for it....... a day was appointed for a quilting bee for the temple and arrangement be made for the poor.  More teachers were appointed to assist for the winter season and their first business would be to sell for wheat to be .....to the pail.

The question was asked if the wheat in the office should be locked up for itself, but every lady seemed to be satisfied to the way it was.  Sister Madsen translated to the sisters in her language.   Sister Peel  felt well to be together with the Sisters and her interest was like all the time for the prospering of the Society and wished for the Sisters to take full interest in the Society and not only give but come to Meeting  to be sure to be benefited by.

Sister Simpson felt well to be with the Sisters and her interest said it was the general expression, but a true one was interested in everything which was said, and felt greatly benefited to come to Meeting.

Closed with singing and Prayer

Sister Morrison talked of the emigration and of the responsibility that rested upon us as Saints of the most High.  That we had come up to Zion, received our washings and ... and new of the blessings accruing from observance of the ordinances.  That it was our duty to use every lawful effort in our power to assist in the gathering of the honest in heart, that they too, might have an opportunity of coming up to Zion to learn the law of the Lord and assist in building up his kingdom that His will might be done on earth as it was done in heaven.
Fifteen of the sisters present donated liberally towards the emigration and a general good feeling was present.

Sister Peel bore her testimony.  Sister Simpson said she was desirous to live her religion and walk in humility and do unto others as she would be done unto.. hoped to live to do the will of the Lord and keep His commandments.

Sister c. Peterson said she felt well in the church and kingdom of God, and was desirous to do all the good she could and share her faith by her works.  Many of the sisters bore their testimony in the Danish language.

There was a great deal said about the dirty meeting house and two of the sisters were appointed as  a d....tion.  Sister Peel and Simpson to call upon Bishop  to see what arrangements could be entered into that it might be regularly cleaned and attended to, knowing that the state in which it was now kept was a disgrace to Mt. Pleasant.

It was proposed and seconded that Sister Stena Nelson be admitted as a member of our Society.  Vote was unanimous.

Female Relief Society February 7, 1876

Meeting held February 7, 1876.  Opened with singing "We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet".  Prayer by Sister Morrison.  Minutes of a former meeting were read and accepted.  Reports of donations and disbursements were read.  Sister Morrison then arose and addressed the sisters and said she was pleased to again be able to meet with them, being prevented from attending the previous meetings on account of sickness, but was truly thankful that the Lord, in his goodness and mercy had been pleased to restore her again to health, so far as to be able to meet with the sisters and unite with them in bearing a faithful testimony.  The great work of the Lord in these last days; desired to be one with the people of God and dwell with the Saints eternally who had obeyed the Gospel because of the love of truth; believing it to be the word of the Lord. To her, had never doubted of its authenticity...............faithful, knowing that the gospel of Jesus Christ was a Savior of life unto life to those who receive it or of condemnation to those who reject it..~ Always felt well when able to respond to any call that was made to help those who were deservedly needy.
And felt a thousand times more happy receiving the blessings of the .......than the praises of the rich. Exhorted the sisters to faithfulness and diligence and hoped there would be found those among them who would willingly come forward to assist those who were not able to continue to go round as teachers.
Sister Peel then bore her testimony of the truth of the gospel and desired to do good and help .......in her power and to sustain those who placed in .......... and give them the benefit of our faith and prayers to teach our children principles of truth and righteousness that they might, by setting them a good example, go and do likewise.  Sister Simpson then bore her testimony and felt well; rejoiced in the privilege she had of coming up to Zion and hoped that the light and knowledge that once being imparted would be continued in as much as we desired and to  live our religion. She hoped that if there were any of the children of the sisters that went to the Presbyterian School, that they would take them away and put them into other schools and use every means in our power to keep our children away from outside influences, knowing as we do that those who are not with us are against us.  And through associations with our children, perhaps would leave impressions............regret.

Sister Peterson said she was pleased to hear what was said and hoped the sisters wanted to keep their children away from those schools and if we asked the lord to help us in faith, doubting nothing, that He would help us and every difficulty, that it was the same God who is with us that was with Joseph Smith.and he would never forsake them who put their trust in Him.
Sister Cecilia Peterson also bore her testimony and felt glad that she had been able to stand true and faithful to her first covenants.  Also Sister Franzen and Sister Strem.  The meeting closed with singing " Guide Me Thou O Great Jehovah" and prayer by Sister Peel.
Sister Josephsen, being sick, requested that she should be administered to, which request was attended to by Sister Morrison.  ~ Sister Peel being mouth.

Female Relief Society November 14, 1875

Meeting held Novembe 14, 1875 -  Meeting opened with singing "Oh My Father Thou That Dwellest"..  Prayer by Sister Peel.  Singing "Come, Let Us Anew, our Journey Pursue".  Reports were read.  Sister Morrison then addressed the sisters.  said she felt pleased with the reports and could see the people were willing to assist all they could.. was glad to mingle her testimony with those of her sisters.  The following memorial to Congress was read:  Memorial of the Women of Utah to the Congress of the United States....To the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress Assembled.
"We the undersigned with feelings of mortification and profound regret for the causes compelling us to approach your honorable body, do humbly ask of you that relief and justice which we cannot obtain from any other source.  We as a people are willing to submit and do strictly obey the constitution and laws of the United States as handed down to us by the fathers of our country.  We do most earnestly pray that Utah be admitted as a state with all the privileges and liberties guaranteed to every state by our glorious Constitution and we most earnestly pray and urgently request that your Honorable Body will repeal
the anti-polygamy law of 1862, also the bill known as the Poland Bill, both being special and unconstitutional measures directed against the people of Utah.  We ask to be relieved from the unjust and law breaking officials forced upon us by the government and that we may have the jurisdiction of our own courts and the selection of our own officers that any and all laws will be repealed that will restrict us in our Religious Faith as the Constitution emphatically says that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of Religion or prohibiting the free excercise thereof", also that no religious test shall ever be required for qualification to any office of public trust under the U. S.   And in accordance with the sacred constitution which has been bequeathed to us as a protecting boon by our forefathers, guaranteeing the free excercise of religion over your memorials do humbly pray that no bill, act, or clause shall have the sanction of your honorable body that shall in any way restrict or interfere with the belief in and practice of plural marriage as it is practiced by many of the citizens of Utah and which most of your petitioners have adopted as a portion of their religious faith in all sincerity - believing that it is necessary not only in remedying evils and producing good results in our present existance, but that without it man cannot attain to a fullness of exaltation.  We do humbly pray that each married woman of Utah may be granted the right and privilege to homestead or pre-empt one hundred and sixty acres of land in her own name, also that we be permitted the right to use for our comfort and benefit  the timber now growing on government land in Utah which has been forbidden by the government officials to the great detriment of the people of this territory, thereby depriving us of necessary material for building habitations and otherwise improving our homes.  With no other apology than our necessities we will still continue to watch, work and pray for the prosperity of our country and trust that God in his mercy may so direct your Honorable Body that your memorialists may promptly receive the relief they seek at your hands.

Sister Morrison said she hoped it would bring the relief for which it had been sent.  Said she did not think it wisdom to prolong the meeting, as it was very cold.  A part of the stovepipe having been taken away for repair so that no fire could be built.

Sisters Simpson, Peterson and several other sisters bore their testimonies.  Sister Olive Nelson and Augusta Nelson were appointed teachers of the visiting committee.  Meeting closed with singing "Redeemer of Israel, Our Only Delight"  Prayer by Sister Simpson.
