Peter and Kathy: You've captioned the photo of Bert and Carroll "Off to WW2".>. That's how it turned out but photo taken as Mt Pleasant's Btry D 222nd F A unit was leaving for Camp San Luis Obispo , April 1941>. A draft Act had been passed Fall of 1940>. Men were drafted and National Guard units were called up for "one" year>. For Bert and Carroll that one year turned out to be about five>.
