The following is taken from a Logan Newspaper article:

Laura Johansen is a professional local artist who has long admired the candy ornaments on display in Salt Lake City.

So she jumped at the opportunity to make one of her own when Justin Hamilton approached her with the idea.
“I love challenges,” Johansen said. “That had always, seriously, been on my bucket list.”

She and her husband, USU men’s golf coach Dean Johansen, made the candy ornament that is red and green with the blue Bluebird Candy Co. logo.

Johansen called the project stressful but fun.

“I lose sleep at night,” she said. “But it’s a good thing, a good stress.”

Johansen sees her candy ornament as a promotional tool for Bluebird Candy Co.

“Anything to get them in the store,” said Johansen, referring to potential customers. “There’s a ton of people who haven’t even seen it since it was renovated.”
