This photo of Boy Scouts is a strong statement as to how rich Mt Pleasant was in the early to mid 1920s. A good number of the eligible boys are there and all in uniform to include hats. By the mid 1930's, the Depression years, there were not more than half dozen boys in scouting and none with uniforms. Our mother made bandannas with our troop number on it that we wore around our necks.
