Molasses Pudding

2 Tb of sugar
1/2 cup of molasses
1 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 cup of boiling water
2 tablespoons of melted butter
1 egg
1 pinch of salt
1 tsp baking soda disolved in hot water

Beat the egg and sugar, add the butter, water, soda and molasses and then beat in the flour and salt.  Put in a double boiler, and steam for one hour.  Serve with your favorite fruit sauce.
